Candy Scout policies

Terms of Use

Effective September 13, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Candy Scout website, mobile application and related services. By using Candy Scout, you agree to these Terms.

Who may use Candy Scout

Candy Scout is intended for adults and guardians age 18 and older. You may use the service only if you can legally agree to these Terms.

What Candy Scout provides

Candy Scout combines community votes, structured Scout-area reports and organizer-sourced event listings to help users plan Halloween activities.

Scores, rankings, conditions and event details can change quickly and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are informational signals, not guarantees about candy availability, crowd levels, safety, event admission or organizer performance.

Your reports, votes and other submissions

You are responsible for information you submit. Only report what you reasonably observed, and do not intentionally manipulate scores, impersonate another person or organizer, or submit information that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing or privacy-invasive.

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Candy Scout a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, aggregate, display and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, moderate and improve the service.

Acceptable use

You may not use Candy Scout to:

  • target, track, identify or endanger a child or another person;
  • publish private home information as a public candy target;
  • spam, automate or coordinate fake votes or reports;
  • probe, disrupt or bypass service security or abuse controls;
  • scrape or reuse Candy Scout data in a way that violates law or these Terms;
  • upload malware or interfere with other users' access.

Events and third-party services

Event listings are informational and may come from public organizer sources. Candy Scout is not the organizer, operator or ticket seller for third-party events unless a listing expressly says otherwise.

External websites, registration pages and social accounts are controlled by third parties. Their terms, policies, pricing and practices apply when you use them.

Moderation

Candy Scout may investigate, correct, restrict or remove reports, votes, events, accounts or other information under the Moderation Policy. We may also limit access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or community.

Intellectual property

Candy Scout branding, Scout artwork, application design, software and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Candy Scout materials to you.

Service availability

Candy Scout may change, suspend or discontinue features, geographic coverage or seasonal data. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.

Disclaimers

Candy Scout is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for your own decisions about where to travel, park, attend events and participate in Halloween activities.

Safety and urgent-help guidance is maintained on the support page.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Candy Scout and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Continued use after revised Terms are posted means you accept the revised Terms. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, abuse, security risk or legal requirements.

Governing law

To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
